Two newborn sessions in one weekend!! I have a newfound respect for newborn mommys as well as photographers who specialize in newborn photography and only do newborn and baby photography. It takes a certain amount or patience, propping, and forethought to get great photos of newborn babies. In the photos you see of newborns, their skin always looks so soft and angelic. The reality most of the time is that newborns have dry skin, cradle cap, or a big red rash on their face. Many hours go into making those babies look perfect through the use of post processing photo editing software such as Lightroom and Photoshop. “You mean to tell me the photographer doesn’t just press the magic button and the baby photos come out looking amazing?” That is what I’m telling you. I was lucky with both my newborn sessions last weekend in that both babies had pretty nice complexion and excellent temperaments. It did make photographing them and post processing a bit easier. The most fun thing about photographing a newborn is waiting to get just that right look or that yawn or the smile they give because they just passed gas. The more I photograph newborns, the more I learn and my confidence grows. The Blackmor Family are great to work with and they have two beautiful children.
